Before purchasing any custom products or design services from Open By Surprise Event & Design or Open By Design, you are agreeing to all policies listed below. Both brands reserve the right to enforce these policies. Failure to read and understand these policies does not release customers from agreement.

All communication regarding orders must be conducted via email. Please ensure your email and phone number are entered correctly so we can efficiently assist you. If concerns arise regarding your order, we will contact you at our discretion.

1. Consent

​

By placing an order, you agree to provide accurate information for all purchases. All photos submitted may be used for promotional and design purposes. All designs created by Open By Surprise or Open By Design are owned by the respective brand. Any licensed characters used in designs are for personal use only.

2. Photo Guidelines

​

  • Professional photos must be at least 300 DPI for event design or printed products.

  • Low-quality photos may require replacement or may not be used in designs.

  • Photos should match the theme, colors, and atmosphere of your event for optimal results.

  • Exceptions: Custom memorial products (e.g., grave blankets or In Loving Memory backdrops) may accept lower-quality images, but Open By Surprise/Design is not responsible for pixelation or blurriness below 100 DPI. Customers will have the option to proceed or cancel after reviewing photo quality.

3. Photo Resolution & Event Ethics

​

  • Photos below 72 DPI are considered low resolution. Open By Surprise and Open By Design are not responsiblefor blurry or pixelated prints or digital files resulting from low-quality images.

  • For full event bookings, all photos provided must be professional quality. This ensures that every event design meets the high standards and ethical practices of Open By Surprise, providing the best visual impact and maintaining consistency with our curated design approach.

4. Products & Services

​

  • Digital proof colors may vary depending on monitor calibration.

  • Check typography, spelling, and grammar carefully; errors after approval are the customer’s responsibility.

  • Open By Surprise and Open By Design reserve the right to update product descriptions or discontinue products at any time.

  • Once proof is approved, items enter production and no changes can be made.

5. Digital Files

​

  • Digital files are delivered via email only and are for personal use.

  • Files may not be resold, altered, or distributed under any circumstances.

  • Files include high-resolution .JPEGs suitable for printing.

​

6. Production Time

​

  • Allow 48–72 hours for design completion and 4–7 business days for order delivery.

  • Turnaround depends on event date, order size, and design queue, and may take up to 1–2 months for large orders.

  • Rush fees apply for expedited services.

  • Proofs are emailed within 72 hours, unless rush fees are applied.

7. Revisions

​

  • Each design includes up to 3 revisions (text, photo/art placement, color changes).

  • Additional revisions are $20 per edit.

  • Detailed instructions help avoid extra fees (e.g., glitter, font style, textures, theme).

  • Freestyle designs based on basic info (name, age, theme) are available and are popular for custom orders.

8. Third-Party Websites

​

Products or services may include materials from third-party vendors. Open By Surprise and Open By Design are not responsible for content, accuracy, or liability of third-party websites or materials.

9. Refunds & Cancellations

​

  • Due to the custom nature of products, refunds are not offered.

  • Both brands reserve the right to cancel orders at any time.

  • Open By Surprise and Open By Design are not liable for modifications, price changes, or discontinued services.

10. Local Pickup

​

  • Local orders must be picked up Monday–Friday by 6 PM, unless other arrangements are made.

  • Customers are notified via call, text, or email when ready.

  • Orders not picked up within 24 hours cannot be stored due to space limitations.

  • ​

11. Shipped Products

​

  • Shipping time is 4–7 business days after design completion (excluding weekends and holidays).

  • Open By Surprise and Open By Design are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged packages after carrier handoff.

  • Orders should be placed at least 14 days in advance.

  • Check your shipping address carefully.

  • PO boxes are not accepted.

12. Rush Orders

​

  • Rush options are available for all products.

  • Priority is based on event due date.

  • Customers must email openbysurprise@gmail.com with order details and shipping preference (1-Day or 2-Day).

  • Rush fees must be paid in full to activate priority status.

​

13. Payments

​

  • Payment in full is required before design work begins.

  • Custom products start at $120+, digital files start at $45+, depending on type and complexity.

​

14. Additional Fees

​

  • Extra photos: $25 per additional image for custom backdrops, banners, memorial products, or digital designs.

  • Extra revisions/redesigns: $20 per revision beyond the included three.

​

15. Chargebacks / Disputes

​

  • Any customer initiating a chargeback or dispute after purchase will be banned from future orders on both Open By Surprise and Open By Design.
